Foley Bus Lines Minor Midget AAA Petes Lose in Quarter-Finals
The Foley Bus Lines Minor Midget AAA Petes lost 4-1 to York Simcoe Express in the Quarter-finals of the Wendy Dufton Memorial Tournament in London this past weekend.
The Petes opened up the tournament with a 4-2 win over Sudbury Wolves, before losing to North Central Predators 4-2 on Friday. They rebounded with a 3-2 win over Lambton Jr Sting and beat Waterloo Wolves 2-1 to finish second in their division round-robin.
On Saturday night, the team faced Toronto Junior Canadians in the top 16. They knocked off JRC 4-1 to advance to the quarter-finals on Sunday morning, but came up short, losing 4-1 to the tournament champions, York Simcoe.
Nolan Burke lead the Petes with 12 points throughout the weekend, followed by Luc Reeve and Kal Watson with 6 points each. Will Cranley and Will Craig had outstanding games in net.
