The RE Young Midget AAA Petes lost their game last night vs the Markham Waxers 4-2, but can build on the wins within the game.
The Petes fell behind quickly to the Waxers in the first period giving up 3 goals and then one early in the second. But then it was all Petes, and though they only managed two goals in the second half of the game, their 5 on 5 play and penalty kill was exceptional.
Clay Coles 8 opened the scoring for the Petes in the third with an assist from Dylan Connors 4, then Cole Ellis 17, scored unassisted with 20 seconds remaining in the period.
Petes will face Clairington Wednesday night at 8:45 and Ajax-Pickering Saturday afternoon at 4:00, both games on the road.
