AREAS INFOSTRUCTURE

Peterborough is well-known as a hockey city that values and supports the development of its players and teams, especially with Jr. AAA Petes. The city is home to four arenas within a 10-minute drive radius, offering convenience and accessibility for all hockey enthusiasts.

The Healthy Planet Arena, Kinsmen Civic Centre, the newly built Miskin Law Community Complex and the Peterborough Memorial Centre collectively provide quality recreational and competitive hockey facilities.

The Healthy Planet Arena, formerly the Evinrude Centre, has two hockey rinks: the Gardener Pad and Sign-a-fied Pad, each measuring 200 feet by 85 feet. Both have ample seating, as the Sign-a-fied Pad seats 695 and the Gardener Pad seats 300. Warm rooms overlooking both rinks provide comfortable viewing options for spectators, whether seated or standing.

The Kinsmen Civic Centre has two 185-foot by 85-foot pads. Both rinks have warm rooms for seating or standing spectators.

Peterborough's newest facility, the Miskin Law Community Complex, opened on Jan. 15, 2025. It is a 121,500-square-foot building with a twin-pad arena: the Canadian Hockey Enterprises pad on the south arena and the Russelle Toyota Pad on the north arena.

The Peterborough Memorial Centre has always been a historically iconic building. First built in 1956, it is home to the longest-running Ontario Hockey League team, the Peterborough Petes.

The single-pad arena has been home to several major sporting events, such as the 1996 Memorial Cup and three Mann Cups (2010, 2012 and 2018) and hosted a PWHPA (now PWHL) game in February 2023. The building seats 4,329.

These arenas host several prestigious hockey tournaments, such as the Steve Richey Tournament of Champions and the Icefest Tournament.

Peterborough’s dedication and passion for hockey solidifies Peterborough as a premier destination for player development and a vibrant hub for the sport.
