MANDATORY Prospect Players Meeting – April 14th 2016

The coaching staff would like to invite all LOCAL players residing in Peterborough county who wish to try out for the Midget AAA Program to join us for a player’s meeting at the Evinrude Center on April 14th commencing at 6 pm. We are only able to meet with local and returning import players at this time. This meeting will give the staff an opportunity to introduce ourselves, go over our philosophies and give insight to expectations for the year. The meeting is mandatory for all those who wish to tryout for the Midget AAA program.

As the April skates fall on the same weekends as JR A prospect camps, we still encourage you to attend the meeting even if you are unable to attend the skates.

This is a player’s only meeting, and as such, I would like to take this opportunity to shed light on what we are putting together for a program.

Please understand that we will be operating as a PROGRAM. We are looking for sustainable success and growth that extends beyond one season. The measure of success is more than the record of wins and losses. This program is first and foremost a Jr Preparation Program. I have reached out to General Managers and Coaches of all Jr levels regarding expectations of players coming out of midget AAA, specifics in abilities and knowledge. This is the primary focus and core of our player development for the year and for future years. Therefore, a major measure of success for this program will be the percentage of players who graduate on to a Jr program.

This should not discourage those who are not wishing to peruse a Jr hockey career, however, they will be experiencing an atmosphere and preparations that would have them ready if they so choose.

The focus of the program will be two fold, INDIVIDUAL GOALS (Player development and preparation for Jr hockey) and a UNIFIED TEAM GOAL that will be announced at a later date. With these goals as the focus and the right players to fit the program, I am looking forward to a strong season and start of a sustainable successful program.

Please be sure to register online for tryouts prior to the meeting if at all possible and please reach out to me with any questions or concerns.
