President's Message - June 2014
Submitted By gwhite on Wednesday, June 4, 2014
I want to thank the Board and our members for the trust you have placed in me as the new President of the Peterborough Minor Hockey Council.  I undertake to our members to work diligently on behalf of and in the best interests of the PMHC.  I will rely on our Board for its guidance and direction.  Ours is a remarkable organization, with a rich history and a very bright future, and I am proud to be part of its leadership.

Our Past President, Walter DiClemente, is owed an enormous debt of gratitude.  For nearly a decade, initially as a Director, and ultimately as President, Walter committed unmatched energy and dedication to our organisation.  Over the last two years as Vice President, I have come to appreciate the commitment of time and energy that Walter brought to the position of President.  Walter was "Mr. Everything" to our organization.  He assisted with tournament organization.  He was responsible for discipline.  He chaired the Coach Selection Committee for many years.  He attended more OMHA and ETA meetings than one can imagine.  He oversaw the creation of a new Constitution, and new Rules of Operation for the PMHC.  He was instrumental in Council's adoption of a new development model for our organization that will help our teams and players compete.  He represented us proudly in the community, and became the face of our organization.  Walter has promised to be a very active Past President - an undertaking I intend to make him keep!  When you see Walter at the rink, please thank him for his efforts on our behalf.

David Beckett

President
