BillySmithSells Major Peewee AAA Petes Come Up Short in OT
The BillySmithSells Major Peewee AAA Petes were defeated 5-4 in overtime by the Clarington Toros in game two of the second round of the ETA playoffs in Clarington on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. 

Tommy Pollock scored early in the second period assisted by Jackson Stewart to give the Petes a 1-0 lead. Clarington came back quickly to tie the game 1-1. Thirsty-five seconds later, Nate Bassett scored on a pass from Will Corcoran to put the Petes ahead 2-1. Midway through the second period, Cole Lester extended the lead and scored for the Petes with a pass from Jack Carey to give the Petes a 3-1 lead. But, the Clarington Toros fought back with two goals to end the second period with a 4-3 lead over the Petes.

The Petes came out hard in the third period and Cole Lester scored on a pass from Noah Davidson late in the period to tie the game 4-4.

The teams went into a sudden death 10 minute overtime and with 37 seconds left in the overtime period, the Clarington Toros scored to take the win 5-4.

The Petes will go up against Clarington once again in this playoff series on Thursday, March 16, 2017, 7:00 pm at the Evinrude Centre and on Saturday, March18, 2017 4:00 pm, they will take on the Kingston Jr. Frontenacs at the Kinsmen Arena to complete this round of the playoff series.
