Novice AAA Petes sweep series against the Ajax-Pickering Raiders on November 21 & 22
The Russelle Chiropractic, Canadian Hockey Enterprises Novice AAA Petes took both games of a home and away weekend series versus their rival Ajax-Pickering Raiders on November 21 and 22.

On Saturday, November 21 at the Evinrude Centre, the Petes relied on the solid netminding of Lewis Brocklehurst to keep it close until the offence took over in the second period with goals from two of their leading scorers, Cam Burke and Ben Bowen. Defenceman Holden Rutherford notched his first of the season to give the Petes a 3-1 lead with a minute to go in the second period. After that the Petes’ defence took over and Masen Johnston shut the door in nets the rest of the way. Owen Cassidy’s end-to-end beauty and Ben Bowen’s second of the game sealed the deal.

On Sunday November 22 the Raiders were looking for revenge at the Don Beer Arena, but Masen Johnston had different plans, holding the Petes in the game early with a series of spectacular saves. Once again the Petes found their legs in the second period as the defence corps led by Captain Nathan Gerelus, Zach Russelle, Graydon Jones, Ryland Harvey, Quinn Jacobs and Holden Rutherford put the clamps on the Raiders.  The Petes’ hard work soon paid dividends as Owen Fitzgerald and Tyler Bolton both hit the back of the net after steady pressure in the Ajax-Pickering end to give the Petes a 2-1 lead that they never relinquished. Lewis Brocklehurst manned the net in the third and was rock solid as Owen Fitzgerald cashed in his second of the game, and Cam Burke fired an empty netter to give the Petes a 4-1 victory to cap the sweep.
