Player Movement Policy For Tryouts at Age Level Above
Submitted By PMHC on Thursday, January 04, 2018
The Peterborough Minor Hockey Council has developed a process on how we will handle an individual player request to try out for an age-group above their birth year team while meeting requirements from Hockey Canada and the OMHA. A system has been put in place where several steps must be followed to proceed through this process.

The steps for Player Movement are as follows:

  1. An Application Form will be submitted by the player’s parents to the President with the name, player number, and team player is currently playing for by January 15 of the current hockey season. The application will involve a non-refundable $150 fee to be paid to the “Peterborough Minor Hockey Council” (by PayPal).
  2. A checklist will be completed by PMHC President or his designate and 2 appointed members from Council. Conflicts of interest will be declared and respected.
  3. Player and parents will be notified of the evaluators’ decision by the President by March 30th.
  4. If the player’s application is approved, the player is welcome to try out for the above-age team and the above-age coach is free to select the player.
  5. Players who have been given permission to try out for an older team must also try out for the team of their own age group, and will be responsible for payment of tryout fees at both levels.
NOTE: APPLICATIONS RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED
