The Russelle Chiropractic/ CHE Atom AAA Petes’ with
an extremely difficult schedule
this weekend, finished with a hard fought 5-3 win over Barrie on
Sunday. This followed after two very tight checking, defensive battles
with the Clarington Toros on Friday and North Central Predators on
Saturday. As Clarington games always are, hard - nosed,
defensive battles, the Petes’ came up short losing 3-1 Friday
night despite a valiant team effort. Tyler Bolton had the lone goal with
the assist going to Cooper Lawson.
Saturday, despite another hard fought effort, the Petes came up short losing 3-0 with an empty net goal. Although the Petes’ carried the momentum for most of the game it was very difficult capitalize on chances with outstanding goaltending from the Predators.
At the end of 3 games in 3 days, the Petes’ were again faced with a top rated ETA team in the Barrie Colts. Another outstanding effort from all players in this game prevailed and allowed us to get back to our winning ways in a key matchup. Tyler Bolton led the way with 2 goals and 2 assists, Ben Bowen had a goal and two assists, Cam Burke had a goal and an assist, while Ryder Perry scored as well. Holden Rutherford, Nate Gerelus and Zach Russelle also added assists. Masen Johnston and Lewis Brocklehurst played well with the duties in net over the weekend.
Next action for the Petes is Wednesday Nov. 29 @ Central Ontario Wolves in Woodville, followed by a trip to Rama to face off against North Central on Saturday Dec. 2 at 2pm.
