BillySmithSells.ca Major Peewee AAA Petes Advances to Next Round of ETA Playoffs

Major Peewee AAA Petes came out on top this weekend to advance to the next
round of the ETA playoffs.
On Saturday March 4, 2017, the Petes hosted the Central Ontario Wolves in Game 3 of the series at the Evinrude Centre. The Wolves came out strong and proved that they were not going to go down easy as there was no score after the first period. Cole Lester scored late in the second period for the Petes assisted by Cole Pottle to give the Petes a 1-0 lead. The Wolves tied it up early in the third period but Pete’s defense man Ty Harris notched a goal assisted by Jack Carey and Ryan Bell to put the Petes ahead. Nick Roode secured the game for the Petes as he took a pass from defense man Parker Burgess and scored on the empty net with 13 seconds to go in the game. Nathan Cannons stayed strong in the Petes cage making several key saves.
On Sunday, March 5, 2017, the Petes hosted the Oshawa Generals at the Evinrude Centre. Based on goals for and against, the Petes had to win or not be defeated by 3 or more goals to move on to the next series. Oshawa came out strong in the first period and scored two quick goals to take a 2-0 lead over the Petes. They scored again in the second period making it 3-0. It wasn’t looking good for the Petes but with 1 minute and 33 seconds to go in the game, right winger Tommy Pollock scored on a pass from defense man Ty Harris to clench the series for the Petes. The BillySmithSells Major Peewees now advance to the next ETA playoff round where they will take on the Kingston Frontenacs and the Clarington Toros. Schedule is yet to be determined.
