Rehill Building Supplies Bantam Petes advanced to the Bantamfest tournament final
The Rehill Building Supplies Bantam Petes advanced to the Bantamfest tournament final at the Memorial Center on Sunday.
In round-robin play, the team beat Brampton 45s 6-0, Halton Hurricanes 3-2, then lost in overtime on Friday 4-3 to North Bay Trappers. The team rebounded on Saturday and beat CIH Academy from Ottawa 4-1 and Mississauga Sens 4-1 to advance to the semi-finals on Sunday. Gabriel Lemire, Boyd Stahlbaum, Nolan Burke and Brett Robertson scored against Guelph Gryphons in a close semi-final 4-3 win. In the final, the Petes lost to Cambridge Hawks 2-1. Kal Watson scored the lone Peterborough goal with assists to Burke and Will Everson.
Next action for Peterborough is away in Belleville on Thursday then home on Saturday night against Central Ontario at 8pm, Evinrude Arena.
