Lorentz – Head Coach, Peterborough Major Midget Petes.
David Beckett, President of the Peterborough
Minor Hockey Council announced today that Dave Lorentz a former Captain of
the OHL Petes and a member of the 1989 Championship team will be coaching the
Major Midget “AAA” Petes for the 2014/15 hockey season. Following his time with the Petes, Dave was
drafted 145th overall in the 1989 NHL Entry Draft by the Washington Capitals
and represented Team Canada at the 1992 Spengler
Cup.
Dave played professionally in Europe before finishing his career at Waterloo University. Dave has previous coaching experience with the Chatham Wheels of the Colonial Hockey League, with Peterborough of the Central Jr “B” league, and has coached the Peterborough “AA” team to an OHF championship and the Norwood Vipers of the Senior AA League. Dave is the Principal at Adam Scott Collegiate & Intermediate school in Peterborough. He is also very active in the local community and sits on the Board for Kawartha Food Share, he is the Past President of the Peterborough Petes Alumni Association and sits on the Executive of the OHL Petes.
